Job summary

Eccalon, LLC, located in Hanover, MD, is seeking a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and ship production software for DoD and enterprise programs. You will own features end-to-end—from React front-ends and Next.js to Node.js/Python APIs and AWS data stores.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a security-conscious environment, applying NIST 800-171/CMMC practices, integrating LLM APIs, and delivering scalable, secure applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of full-stack development shipping production apps, DoD/federal contracting a plus.
• Experience with Node.js and Python; frameworks Express/Nest/Next.js.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) with prompts and RAG.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL (DynamoDB); SQL and data modeling.
• Knowledge of AWS services and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work cross-functionally.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, or FedRAMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web apps end-to-end.
• Build front-end with React and Next.js; reusable UI components.
• Integrate LLM capabilities via Anthropic Claude API and other providers; apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
• Translate designs into high-quality, accessible, responsive code; leverage AI tooling to accelerate implementation securely.
• Develop back-end services and REST APIs using Node.js and Python; design for security, scalability, and compliance.
• Integrate frontend with AWS services (Cognito, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS/PostgreSQL); implement OAuth2/OIDC and JIT provisioning.
• Implement security measures aligned to OWASP Top 10; participate in code reviews.
• Write clean, well-tested code; enforce engineering standards and trunk-based development.
• Conduct code reviews focusing on security, maintainability, and AI-generated code validation.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across full stack and AI integrations.
• Design and manage relational and NoSQL data models; optimize queries for performance and cost.
• Apply structured prompt engineering techniques to build reliable LLM-powered features; mitigate prompt injection/data leakage risks.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, PMs, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end features.
• Stay current on AI tooling and cloud-native development; share knowledge with the team.
