Job summary

Midtown Home Improvements in Wentzville, MO is seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Developer to own internal applications and tools. You’ll work on full-stack features for internal business apps using Vue/Nuxt on the frontend and Node.js/NestJS on the backend.

The role emphasizes practical software that employees actually use daily, with AI-assisted development as part of the workflow. You will review AI-generated work, protect information, and contribute to code quality and security.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience building and maintaining production web applications, or equivalent experience demonstrating meaningful software development.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with Vue, Nuxt, React, Angular, or another modern frontend framework.
• Experience with Node.js and backend development. NestJS is preferred, but Express, Fastify, or similar experience is valuable.
• Experience with SQL databases and an ORM.
• Understanding of database schema changes and migrations.
• Experience with Git, pull requests, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to communicate clearly, work independently, and collaborate with a small team.

Since 1990, Midtown Home Improvements has been serving customers across the St. Louis region. We are a local roofing and general contracting company with more than 300 employees and five locations.

Our Technology Department develops and supports proprietary software used throughout the company. We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join our small, collaborative technology and help desk team and take real ownership of the applications and tools you build.

What You’ll Do

• Build, test, and deploy full-stack features for internal business applications.

You will be expected to review and validate AI-generated work, protect company and customer information, and take ownership of the quality and security of everything you ship.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving problems and building useful software. Professional experience is important, but we care more about what you can actually build and maintain than simply checking every box.
