Job description

New Directions Technologies, Inc. (NDTI) is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our application development team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).

In this role, you will design, develop, modernize, and support applications that help Navy teams accomplish their mission. You will work across the application stack—from the user interface and business logic to databases, integrations, automation, testing, and deployment.

This is an opportunity for a developer who enjoys solving real-world problems rather than simply writing code. You will work directly with business analysts, technical teams, cybersecurity professionals, and Government stakeholders to understand operational needs and turn them into reliable, secure, and user-friendly solutions.

Our environment includes both established applications that require ongoing support and modernization efforts that introduce newer technologies, cloud capabilities, automation, and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web-based and business applications supporting Navy customers and mission requirements.
  • Work across the full application stack, including user interfaces, application and business logic, APIs and integrations, databases, and supporting services.
  • Develop new application capabilities while maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing existing applications.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into practical technical solutions in collaboration with business analysts, developers, system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and Government stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain database-driven applications, including queries, data access, data validation, and integration with enterprise data sources.
  • Design and implement integrations between applications, databases, APIs, SharePoint, Microsoft services, and other enterprise systems.
  • Use Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate, when low-code solutions or workflow automation provide an effective approach to meeting customer requirements.
  • Develop canvas and model-driven Power Apps and automated workflows as required to streamline business processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, correct defects, and support applications throughout their operational lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, configuration management, version control, and release activities to ensure solutions are reliable and maintainable.
  • Work within established DevSecOps and CI/CD processes to support repeatable and secure application builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Incorporate cybersecurity requirements throughout application development and work with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate application security findings.
  • Support application modernization efforts, including migration of legacy capabilities to modern web, cloud, or platform-based solutions when appropriate.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including application designs, configuration information, deployment procedures, troubleshooting guidance, and other information necessary to support long-term application maintenance.
  • Communicate directly with customers and stakeholders to understand problems, demonstrate solutions, gather feedback, and continuously improve supported applications.
