Job summary

Pivotal is building internal tools to help engineers explore flight data, with on-site work in Palo Alto, CA. You’ll develop full-stack data apps, Python services, and HTTP APIs, connecting to AWS Athena and S3. Expect to craft user-friendly data exploration interfaces and self-serve tools for large telemetry datasets.

You’ll ship with CI/CD, tests, and monitoring, while collaborating with engineering teams to scope needs and document outputs for maintainability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping web applications.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in building HTTP APIs.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React or Vue).
• Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD, and Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Build internal web applications for flight data exploration, including browsers and analysis tools.
• Develop Python services and HTTP APIs connecting to AWS Athena and S3 with caching and pagination.
• Design data exploration interfaces and time-series visualizations for engineers.
• Create self-serve tools and field guides from warehouse data to reduce scripting.
• Package tooling for laptop deployment on Windows and ensure CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.
