About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Full Stack Cloud Developer to join our pedestrian network group. You’ll be part of the foundational team, building and scaling our solutions nationally and internationally. Our ideal candidate has a passion for developing innovative GIS (Geographic Information System) solutions, excellent customer-facing skills, and expertise in cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, with experience in event-driven microservices architectures. This role involves direct customer interaction, from gathering requirements to successful delivery of projects.

Gaussian Solutions LLC is a product and services company that is modernizing Geospatial Analysis and Transit Data Pipelines. By leveraging the advances in Artificial Intelligence, especially Computer Vision and Deep Learning applied towards aerial and LiDAR imagery, and Large Language Models, we bring unprecedented capabilities to digitize, metricize and represent physical infrastructure. Our current focus is on City Infrastructure with an emphasis on pedestrian and bike transportation networks.

Location

Remote – Gaussian Solutions seeks candidates in the Pacific Time Zone or those able to work primarily overlapping hours with the Pacific Time Zone. Must be available for at least two weekly meetings accommodating an international team.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, gather requirements, and provide technical solutions. Act as a technical advisor and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Full Stack Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable services using both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Cloud Integration: Utilize Microsoft Azure to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications. Implement cloud services such as Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure DevOps.
• Microservices Architecture: Develop and maintain event-driven microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python. Ensure services are scalable, resilient, and maintainable.
• Event-Driven Systems: Design and implement event-driven architectures using messaging systems like Azure Event Grid, Azure Service Bus, or Kafka.
• CI/CD: Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the development process and ensure high-quality code delivery.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for applications and processes.
• Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications, including troubleshooting and bug fixing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of full-stack development experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Azure and cloud-based app development
• Strong understanding of event-driven microservices architecture

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in:
  • Front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.js
  • Back-end technologies such as Node.js, Java, .NET Core, or Python
• Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and ORM frameworks
• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Azure services including Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps.
• Able to develop and deploy CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle client interactions professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or similar certifications.
• Additional Experience: Experience with other cloud providers like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

In the city of Seattle, WA, the salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000. Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualifications, and training. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
