Job summary

3Pillar is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to own end-to-end architecture and guide modernization initiatives across enterprise platforms. You will lead technical direction, balance constraints, and drive production-grade solutions in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

The role emphasizes design authority, client interaction, and mentoring of engineers, with focus on scalable, secure, and cost-effective systems in the AI-enabled product development space.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years as a solution/technical architect on mid-to-large scale systems.
• 10+ years as a Full Stack Engineer and Architect.
• Expert-level design proficiency with architecture decisions that withstand production.
• Deep expertise across the stack: Angular front-end and Node/Express back-end.
• Mastery of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL) with multi-tenant isolation, migrations and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud-native delivery: AWS, containers, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, release/recovery practices.
• Demonstrated leadership of Agile teams and clear communication with executives and clients.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture, from target-state design to launch, balancing performance, scalability, security, testability, and cost.
• Lead modernization of legacy platforms with migration boundaries and parity checks to ensure ongoing delivery.
• Set and uphold engineering standards across the team: design patterns, components, code reviews, tests, quality gates.
• Gather and validate requirements with Product, QA, and client leadership; translate into direction, estimates, risks, and delivery plans.
• Mentor engineers, review high-risk changes, and remove bottlenecks in review and release processes.
• Partner with delivery leadership and clients to report status, surface risks, and drive scope decisions.

• Lead the modernization of legacy platforms into the new architecture, defining the migration boundary, cutover strategy, and parity checks so delivery continues throughout.
• Set and uphold engineering standards across the team: design patterns, shared components, code review practice, test strategy, and quality gates that protect critical customer behavior.
• Gather and validate requirements with Product, QA, and client leadership; turn them into clear technical direction, estimates, risks, and delivery plans, and keep documentation accurate.
• Mentor and grow engineers, act as a qualified reviewer for high‑risk changes, and remove bottlenecks in review and release.
• Partner with delivery leadership and client executives to report status, surface risks early, and drive decisions on scope, sequencing, and release readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years as a solution or technical architect on systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.

• Expert‑level design proficiency following UML / C4 / ArchiMate, with a record of architecture decisions that held up in production.
• Deep expertise across the stack: Angular on the front end and Node.js with Express on the back end, with the judgment to guide others and not only build.
• Mastery of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL), including multi‑tenant data isolation with row‑level security, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud‑native delivery: AWS, containers, Kubernetes and Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and release and recovery practice (smoke tests, rollback, restore).
• Demonstrated leadership of Agile teams and clear communication with executives and clients.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Desired

• Test strategy and tooling (Vitest, Playwright, integration and end‑to‑end suites) and coverage measurement in CI.
• Security design: SSO, role‑based access, tenancy boundaries, and threat modeling.
• Knowledge of document databases and of HTTP, JSON, and XML at the protocol level.
• Source control strategy for forked and upstream repositories.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted engineering and code‑knowledge tools, and with evaluating them against evidence.
• Experience with learning platforms (LMS), xAPI, or content licensing.
