Job summary

System One is seeking a Full-Stack .NET Application Engineer in Schaumburg, IL for a contract-to-hire role. The position blends backend work (60%) with frontend tasks (40%), in a hybrid onsite/remote setup.

You will design, develop, and maintain large-scale .NET applications, supporting ELD workflows, while integrating modern UI and cloud-based practices. Collaboration and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with .NET / .NET Core and C#.
  • Hands-on experience with EF Core and ORM best practices.
  • Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and clean architecture principles.
  • Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases, including query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, identity frameworks).
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, etc.).
  • Angular strongly preferred; candidates without Angular experience must demonstrate ability to ramp quickly.
  • Strong proficiency in: TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles, component-based UI architectures, familiarity with UI libraries like Angular Material or Bootstrap.
  • Modern engineering practices including using Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Exposure to or experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and API gateways is a plus.
  • Prior experience in insurance or underwriting systems and legacy system modernization initiatives is desirable.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Full-Stack .NET Application Engineer
Location: Schaumburg, Illinois
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $105,000 annual
Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Hours: 40.0
