Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Software Engineer to analyze, design, implement, and test quality software for a new platform. The role involves adopting a new technology stack, data science integration, and agent-driven AI architectures to meet evolving customer needs.

You will own technical functionality, learn rapidly, and contribute across the stack from cloud services to data tools, while collaborating with customers and engineering leadership to deliver robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline or on-the-job training.
• 3-5 years of relevant full-stack software development experience.
• Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following best practices.
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent cloud-based Web applications.
• AWS hosted applications and R data science libraries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support a new web application stack.
• Leverage and refine LLM-codegen processes to balance agility and quality.
• Develop and leverage agent-driven AI architectures.
• Work closely with customers and adapt tools to their needs.
• Develop psychometrics and data science-focused tools in R.
• Operate, extend and create cloud-based solutions in AWS.
• Develop and maintain code with best practices for maintainability, performance, security, and verifiability.
• Learn new processes, tools, and business domains quickly.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver timely, robust software.
