Thinking Machines is building AI tools that expand human capabilities. We seek a full stack engineer to implement backend services in Python and Rust, and deliver frontend surfaces with React/TypeScript for the Tinker platform.

You will join a collaborative engineering team, improving tooling and developer experience while ensuring secure, scalable systems. The role emphasizes ownership across the stack and hands-on contribution to cutting-edge ML workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust for backend development.
• Some familiarity with React and TypeScript.
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Bias for action with initiative across stacks and teams to ship features.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend Tinker's APIs and backend services using Python and Rust.
• Ship user-facing surfaces — console and tools — with React and TypeScript.
• Improve developer experience via SDK ergonomics, error messages, and onboarding.
• Enhance system reliability, observability, and security; participate in on-call.
• Create internal tooling to accelerate research and infrastructure teams.
