Job summary

Loula is building a network of experienced birth and postpartum doulas in California to expand access to insured doula care. As an independent contractor in Loula's network, you will focus on client care while Loula handles credentialing, billing, and payments.

You can expect referrals to insured clients, no marketing spend required, and admin tasks managed by Loula, including insurance verification. Direct deposits occur twice a month, and there are no client minimums or visits required.

Qualifications

• Completed 16 hours of birth doula training and attended 3 births as a doula OR 5 years of doula experience with 3 letters of recommendation.
• Adult and infant CPR training
• HIPAA training
• Liability insurance

Responsibilities

• Serve as an independent contractor within Loula's non-exclusive doula network.
• Leverage Loula's client referral/matching program to connect with insured clients.
• Benefit from Loula's admin support: credentialing, billing, and payments handling.

Loula is seeking experienced full-spectrum doulas to join our growing network of independent doula providers!

About Loula

With a network of over 500 experienced and diverse doulas, Loula is building the leading provider network for birth and postpartum doula care. We partner with both Medicaid and commercial health insurance plans to make it easier for doulas to accept health insurance without the administrative burden.

Loula offers full-service support for Medicaid enrollment, credentialing, insurance verification, medical billing, and payment to doulas in California. By taking on the operational complexity, Loula empowers doulas to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care.

Minimum Qualifications

You'll need one of the following:

• Completed 16 hours of birth doula training AND attended 3 births as a doula, OR

• 5 years of experience as a doula, with 3 letters of recommendation

You'll also need:

• Adult and infant CPR training

• HIPAA training

• Liability insurance

If you don't yet have CPR training, HIPAA training, liability insurance, or the letters of recommendation, you can still reach out! We can support you in getting set up with these requirements.
