Job summary

University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake in Seattle, WA is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to join an all-CNM midwifery practice. This 1.0 FTE position includes a July–June academic appointment with a January 1, 2027 start and 12-month service period.

The CNM will provide high-acuity intrapartum and obstetric care, co-manage high-risk pregnancies, and support postpartum care within a collaborative UW clinical system.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate Degree in Nurse-Midwifery or Midwifery required.
• Current CNM certification; RN license in WA; ARNP with prescriptive authority; CPR/BLS; NRP active within 3 months; DEA registration; EFM certification (can be arranged).
• Experience in full-scope midwifery care and obstetric management in a team-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope midwifery care within an all-CNM practice group.
• Deliver high-acuity intrapartum and obstetric care with co-management of high-risk pregnancies.
• Perform cervical ripening, labor induction, vaginal birth, laceration repair, and limited obstetric ultrasound.
• Postpartum care and discharge planning for mothers including high-acuity cases.
