The School of Social Work at University at Buffalo is seeking a Full Professor/Senior Scholar to lead high-impact research, secure external funding, and advance teaching excellence.

The appointed candidate will mentor tenure-earning faculty, contribute to DEI initiatives, design courses for diverse students, and represent the program at local, national, and global levels. Travel to conferences, collaborate with foundations, publish widely, and participate in governance are expected.

Formación

• Strong record of externally funded research and scholarly publication
• Experience mentoring tenure-earning faculty and teaching assistants
• Proven ability to design and deliver high-quality courses for diverse student populations

Responsabilidades

• Procure external funding from foundations, state, and federal agencies.
• Conduct research and write reports for funding agencies.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and books; present at conferences.
• Travel to other universities or academic settings for learning opportunities.
• Participate in committee, departmental, and faculty meetings.
• Provide mentoring to tenure-earning faculty and TAs.
• Review teaching materials and recommend improvements.
• Assist with student recruitment, interviews, and academic counseling.
• Contribute to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives.
• Design and deliver quality courses that synthesize knowledge for diverse students.
• Engage in professional service and leadership at various levels.

School of Social Work at UB seeks a candidate to fill our position for a Full Professor/ Senior Scholar.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Procuring external funding from foundation, state and/ or federal agencies.
• Conducting research and writing reports for funding agencies.
• Publishing research in various outlets including peer-reviewed journals and scholarly books, delivering presentations at top-tier conferences, and networking with others in the field.
• Traveling to other universities or academic settings to participate in learning opportunities.
• Participating in committee, departmental, and faculty meetings.
• Providing mentoring assistance to tenure-earning faculty and teaching assistants.
• Reviewing teaching materials and making recommendations for improvement.
• Assisting with student recruitment, interviews, and academic counseling sessions.
• Contributing to the creation of an environment that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
• Designing and delivering quality courses that synthesize and communicate knowledge and skills effectively to diverse students.
• Participating in professional service and leadership at local, state, regional, national, and/or global levels.
