Job summary

The AMES Companies, Inc. is seeking a Fulfillment Operator 2 at our Carlisle, PA eCommerce center. The role emphasizes accurate order fulfillment using RF devices, operating Pacer and Walkie Rider lifts, and packing finished goods for shipment.

Qualifications

  • Pacer and Walkie Rider Lift Certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to perform simple math (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill orders using RF device, pulling items and staging for packaging.
  • Unload items from imports and stack onto pallets per quantity/height requirements.
  • Operate MHE equipment: Walkie/Rider and Pacer.
  • Create packing boxes with Box on Demand (BOD).
  • Pack and secure products for shipping to UPS/FedEx terminals with accuracy.
  • Meet productivity rates and understand paperwork like pick sheets and customer requirements.
  • Identify and report simple problems and seek assistance when needed.
  • Process returns and handle customized orders as required.

WHO YOU ARE

Our Fulfillment Operator 2, is a skilled professional that requires attention to detail, dexterity, physical ability, and coordination to keep up with the fast-paced order preparation area. Operators will monitor, and or operate various pieces of equipment, and perform data entry, to ensure the timely preparation, and final shipment of packages, to meet or exceed customer requirements.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Our eCommerce center is located in Carlisle, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Trained and certified to fulfill orders using the RF device - pulling items from sample areas / pick locations - hand load them onto picking carts to then be staged for packaging/processing.
  • As necessary – Unload items from Import containers and stack onto pallets according to the correct pallet quantity and height. IMPORT UNLOADING.
  • Trained and certified to Operate the following MHE equipment: Walkie/rider and or Pacer.
  • Operate Box on Demand (BOD) machine for the creation of packing boxes
  • Unload/load material using the Pacer MHE unit.
  • Pack and secure products for shipping to Ups/Fed Ex terminals, with attention to detail, and accuracy of packages shipped
  • Demonstrate the understating of machine requirements, and be able to produce at productivity rates consistently to the standards within the department worked
  • Ability to understand the required paperwork to include, but not limited to, pick sheets, customer requirements, special instructions, communication boards, quality visuals
  • Perform operator fundamentals including simple problem solving, identify and fix routine/repetitive problems, notify appropriate support person if unable to solve problem themselves
  • Process custom customer orders through UPS/FedEx/USPS Solutions
  • Ability to collect and verify product for customized orders
  • Process returns in a timely manner
  • Report quality and inventory variances to individual leads and/or supervisors
  • Maintain the facilities, equipment, tools and materials in a neat, clean, orderly fashion, adhering to all sanitation practices
  • Follows all AMES safety policies and procedures, best practices, and OSHA regulations
  • Assists and follows overall company in servicing the customer and meeting all required KPI’s
  • Ability to train (as business dictates) in areas of the operation such as: Returns, Space Create, etc.
  • Operate efficiently in a team setting while communicating in a professional manner with all business associates
  • Assist in any other required operational functions and business dictates
  • Train to pick first level orders with the use of an RF device and pick cart
REQUIREMENTS
  • Pacer and Walkie Rider Lift Certification
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to complete simple math, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Must be able to read and comprehend simple instruction
