Job summary

The Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Weir Farm National Historic Site in Wilton, CT, is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform recurring building and utility maintenance and assist journeymen. The successful candidate will apply practical skills in facilities upkeep, safety practices, and basic repairs in a historic site setting.

Experience with maintenance tasks and ability to follow instructions and blueprints is essential.

Job description

You will serve as a FUL - Maintenance Worker, performing recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher-graded workers. The position is located within the National Park Service, Weir Farm National Historic Site, in Wilton, CT.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

1. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
2. Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
3. Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
4. Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
5. Knowledge of materials
6. Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
7. Use of Measuring Instruments
