Job summary

Joshua Tree National Park, a unit of the National Park Service, is seeking a FUL - Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operating) (Temporary). This position is expected to last about 1 year but may extend up to two years depending on agency need and funding.

You will operate pickup trucks and off-road vehicles for roadway maintenance, use ride-on equipment to remove brush and debris, paint pavement markings, and perform roadside vegetation work with hand tools.

Qualifications

There is no substitution of education for experience for Federal Wage System (FWS) positions.

Responsibilities

Operates pick up trucks and other offroad vehicles to conduct maintenance on paved and unpaved roadways.
Operates ride on power equipment to assist in the removal of roadside brush, dirt, debris.
Uses paint striping equipment to paint pavement markings, parking lot striping, and painting of metal gates.
Uses hand tools such as hedgers, loppers, string trimmers, and small saws to conduct roadside brushing of vegetation.
Performs various duties and operates light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds such as pick up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed truck, four-wheel and two-wheel drive etc.

You will serve as a FUL - Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operating) (Temporary) with Joshua Tree National Park. Performing laboring duties that require moderately heavy physical effort requiring the use of common hand tools and power equipment. This is a temporary position expected to last 1 year but may be extended up to a maximum of two years based on agency needs and potential funding.
