Job summary

HDR is seeking a Fuels Inspector to join our Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) group within the Federal Business Group. You will inspect electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil works, read drawings, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with project managers on multiple sites.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience; technical schooling or an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
• Minimum of 5 years experience
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Strong written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
• Conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil
• Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed
• Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR’s Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.

In the role of Fuels Inspector, we'll count on you to:

• Relevant Industry Certifications
• Ability to interpret construction schedules
