Job description

Position is fully remote with 50-75% travel

Connected Logistics is seeking a Fuel Automation Field Engineer, SME, to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Fuels Operational Technology Support Services (FOTSS) program.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Works under the supervision of the Project Manager or designated representative.
  2. Ensures technical, quality, and compliance issues are reported, reviewed, and resolved efficiently, in a controlled and auditable manner.
  3. Reviews specifications and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and international standards.
  4. Provides construction engineering support and coordination, interfacing with existing facilities, including but not limited to construction engineering and input.
  5. Performs site surveys to estimate installation activities.
  6. Requires five (5) years of practical experience, including electronics repair, maintenance, installation, system integration, equipment testing, and inspection.
  7. Capable of leading small teams (1-3 people) and safely handling power and machine tools.
  8. Experience with Automated Tank Gauging (ATG), Independent Alarm Systems (IAS), Overfill Protection Equipment (OPE), Hydrant Fueling Automation Maintenance (HFAM), Hydrant Equipment Monitoring Interface (HEMI), industrial networks, and supervisory control systems is preferred.

Requirements

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Typically 5-7 years of experience at an experienced level.
  • Strong understanding of relevant discipline.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to complex problems and develop recommendations.
  • Decision-making within broad parameters.
  • Acts as an informal resource for less experienced team members.
  • Experience with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Army Corps of Engineers (ACoE), or other government agencies is a plus.
  • This role is remote with travel as required. Travel frequency and duration will be determined.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following: Veeder-Root TLS, Ronan X76CTM, ENRAF 854, Enraf 954, ENRAF 818, MTS Level Plus-M, MTS Level Plus-Tank Slayer, PLCs (Allen Bradley, SE Modicon, Emerson-GE, Siemens, Idec, WAGO).
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following communication media: Dial-up modems, lease line modems, Ethernet to analog converters, fiber optic cable, wireless communications.
