Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Fuel company trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment daily.
  • Check and replenish engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, DEF, windshield washer fluid, and other fluids.
  • Inspect equipment for leaks, damage, tire condition, lights and safety concerns.
  • Report maintenance needs to Shop Foreman or Fleet Manager.
  • Maintain accurate fueling and service records.
  • Keep fueling stations, service trucks, and work areas clean and stocked.
  • Safely transport fuel using company trucks in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and safety rules.
  • Follow environmental regulations for fuel handling and spill prevention.
  • Assist mechanics with basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: 28.00 - 35.00 USD / HOUR

Position Summary

The Fueler is responsible for fueling, servicing, and performing routine inspections on company vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure they are ready for daily operations. This position supports field crews by maintaining fuel levels, checking fluid levels, and identifying maintenance issues before equipment is dispatched.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fuel company trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment daily.
  • Check and replenish engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, DEF, windshield washer fluid, and other required fluids.
  • Inspect equipment for leaks, damage, tire condition, lights, and other visible safety concerns.
  • Report maintenance needs or mechanical issues to the Shop Foreman or Fleet Manager.
  • Maintain accurate fueling and service records.
  • Keep fueling stations, service trucks, and work areas clean, organized, and stocked.
  • Safely transport fuel using company service trucks while complying with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
  • Follow all environmental regulations regarding fuel handling and spill prevention.
  • Assist mechanics and shop personnel with basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience fueling heavy equipment or commercial vehicles is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment and construction vehicles is a plus.
  • Ability to identify basic mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to safely enter and exit heavy equipment and service vehicles.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • CDL preferred but not required (if operating CDL-regulated vehicles).
  • DOT Medical Card may be required depending on assigned vehicle.
  • Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Outdoor construction sites, equipment yards, and maintenance facilities.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, fuel, grease, oils, and varying weather conditions.
  • Requires adherence to all PPE requirements and company safety standards.
