Job summary

GROWMARK, Inc. in Amboy, IL seeks a Fuel Terminal Manager to lead daily terminal operations, safety compliance, and customer service excellence. You’ll oversee product handling, equipment operation, and inventory while aligning with budget and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Mgr, Project & Facility Ops, you will train drivers, coordinate repairs, and drive continuous improvements across terminals, ensuring reliable service for our agricultural cooperative network.

Qualifications

• Preferred college degree in business or 3+ years related experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must wear fire resistant clothing and PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and maintains all facility operations including product handling, equipment operations and product receipt and transfer.
• Ensures facility operates within budget and regulatory guidelines while providing high levels of customer service.
• Provides training to other GROWMARK terminals as needed.
• Maintains and communicates inventory and adds product/all additives.
• Ensures compliance with state, federal and company safety criteria.
• Trains and authorizes drivers for terminal access.
• Troubleshoots operations and oversees repairs by external contractors.
• Makes recommendations for operational and efficiency improvements.
• Monitors equipment and facility appearance per company standards.
• Responds to emergencies and troubleshooting issues promptly.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Mgr, Project & Facility Ops, responsible for the operation and function of the Terminal.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP

Supervises, leads, and develops the Assistant Terminal Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversees and maintains all facility operations including product handling, equipment operations and product receipt and transfer. Ensures the facility is operating within company budgetary and operational guidelines and provides the highest level of customer service.

Provides technical support, training, and any additional assistance to other GROWMARK terminals as needed.

Maintains, communicates, and receives product and additive into inventory.

Ensures that facility operations meet all state, federal, and company regulatory and safety criteria.

Responsible for training and authorizing drivers for access to the terminal.

Responsible for troubleshooting facility operations and overseeing repairs from external contractors.

Makes recommendations for operational and efficiency improvements.

Responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment and the appearance of the facility in accordance with company standards.

Responds promptly to troubleshooting issues, emergency situations, and any other circumstances that may require assistance.

Performs troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Adheres to company environmental health and safety policies and training.

Responsible for encouraging, supporting, and promoting innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Prefer a college degree in business, or the equivalent thereof, or 3 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of duties in overseeing terminal operations.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license to attend meetings and training as required.

Must wear fire resistant clothing, PPE, and other safety equipment as required by company policies.

Occasionally exposed or required to:

• Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.),
• Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures,
• May be required to lift 71-100 lbs,
• Required to work at varying heights up to 50 feet.
• May be required to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Requires on-call availability as per company policy.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
