Job summary

Sunoco LP is seeking a Fuel Terminal Maintenance Technician in Huntington, Indiana to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on terminal equipment. The role requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to work independently or with a team.

The ideal candidate will show safety discipline, knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, and electrical systems, and will be able to document activities in the CMMS while coordinating with engineers and operators.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance in industrial environments (fuel/oil/chemical preferred).
• Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems; includes P&ID knowledge.
• Strong safety orientation: lockout/tagout, hazardous materials handling, PPE.
• Certifications such as OSHA safety training or electrical/HazMat are a plus.
• Good problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Physical stamina to lift and move equipment and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on tanks, piping, pumps, valves, and loading racks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in terminal systems.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA/EPA and local codes; participate in training.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Document maintenance activities in the terminal's CMMS system.
• Coordinate with operators and engineers to plan maintenance schedules.
• Support emergency response and spill containment as needed.
• Inspect tanks and pipelines for regulatory compliance and hazards.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools for ongoing upkeep.
