Job summary

Barfield in Miami is seeking a Fuel Technician to perform testing, fault isolation, inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance on aircraft fuel component accessories, aligning with CMM, SPM, SB/AD, EO guidance.

Candidates should have 1-2 years of pneumatics maintenance, ability to read schematics, use hand tools and calibration equipment, and be able to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment. A&P license preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1-2 years of aircraft pneumatics maintenance experience.
• Understanding of calibrating/troubleshooting pneumatic components.
• Familiar with OEM schematics and CMMs.
• Willingness to assist engineering development.

• Fuel Components Bench Technician Level based on experience.
• Good communication skills with training.
• Dexterity with hand tools and precision calibration equipment.

We are looking to hire a dedicated Fuel Technician to join our team who will support our Fuel Technician department.

General Purpose of Job

Perform testing, fault isolation, inspection, quoting, repair, preventative maintenance, and rework on various types of aircraft fuel component accessories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs testing, fault isolation, inspection, quoting, repair, preventative maintenance, and rework on various types of aircraft fuel component accessories to include but not limited to: LPT ACC Valves, Fuel Control Assy, Fuel Pumping Units, Fuel Flow Meters, Metering Valves, TCC Valves, FCU Valves while keeping in line with the respective CMM, SPM, SB/AD, EO, Airline Technical. Document, or other OEM Tech. Data.
• Receives and performs training given by any experienced shop team member or the lead technician. Works with friendly and positive attitude; always ready to learn new tasks, and participate willingly with teammates
• Needs to be familiar with a variety of workshop concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on training, experience and judgment to plan and accomplish set goals for maximum productivity. Performs a variety of complicated tasks, while keeping the highest quality standard. Usually reports to the lead technician, supervisor, or manager.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Can read, write, speak and understand English
• 1-2 years min. of aircraft pneumatics components maintenance experience or equivalent
• Understanding of and abilities in calibrating/ troubleshooting pneumatic components
• Capable and comfortable at assimilating new or different pneumatic (and other accessories) capabilities
• Capable and comfortable using OEM schematics, technical instructions/diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and other documents such as Reliability Work Scopes, Best Practices, and customer EO’S
• Willingness to assist engineering development within related technologies, as required
• Possess knowledge of basic electricity
• Capable and willing to work in a fast-paced environment, while multi-tasking
• Fuel Components Bench Technician Level (based on experience).
• Comfortable receiving training, and able to demonstrate good communication skills
• Dexterity and knowledge with hand tools, special tools and precision calibration equipment. (even other mechanical fields equivalency)
• Must be adaptive and willing to engage new concepts, processes and technical capabilities. Also, able to efficiently work with a technical operating system (ERP).
• Must possess the ability to work with little or no supervision.
• A & P, Repairman’s Certificate, FCC License., preferable but not mandatory
