Job summary

Ever-Green Energy in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Fuel Engineer to operate and maintain fuel, ash handling, and water treatment systems. The role supports the Lead Engineer and may require after-hours and rotating shifts.

The ideal candidate holds a Minnesota Special Engineer License and can communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Familiarity with boiler operation, chiller systems, and basic office software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold current Minnesota Special Engineer License.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
• Physically able to climb over and around equipment, lift material up to 50 pounds, and work with common tools and equipment.
• Capable of working rotating shifts.
• Valid driver’s license required and clear driving record.
• Technical education related to below duties.
• Experience in the operation and repair of wood and gas fired boilers using oil as back-up fuel, steam turbine and electric drives, pumps, and other related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heating, cooling, distribution, power generation, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform in-field operation of fuel, ash handling, chiller and cooling towers as required and directed.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts and accept mandatory overtime as required.
• Use basic electronic computer knowledge to operate boiler plant equipment and software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Perform lubrication per Facility Lubrication Plan.
• Assist in record keeping and maintenance of the plant logbook.
• Maintain housekeeping per Facility Housekeeping Plan and supervisor directives.
• Assist Lead Engineer in adjusting chiller, cooling tower, fuel and ash equipment and coordinating fuel delivery and ash pickup.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and documentation on Work Orders.
• Implement equipment isolation and lockouts for safety and protection.
