Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to plan, develop, and execute fuel injector tests in a world-class lab. You will own test benches, drive data-driven improvements, and collaborate across engineering teams to improve efficiency and validation processes.

The role requires hands-on bench work, data analysis with MATLAB and Python, and mentoring junior engineers in a hybrid on-site setting at the Pontiac facility.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience in automotive engineering or engine development/test environments.
• Experience with data analysis to optimize testing and model correlation.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Python for data post-processing.

Responsibilities

• Test & bench ownership: plan and execute fuel injector tests across engine programs.
• Develop and implement first‑time capable tests for hardware development and validation.
• Lead issue diagnosis and resolution during test setup, execution and investigations.
• Collaborate with facilities, calibration teams, and engineers to improve process and test efficiency.
