F. F. Hitchcock Company in Cheshire, CT is looking for Fuel Delivery Drivers to safely deliver home heating oil and propane to residential and light commercial customers on metered routes.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with tanker endorsement

Responsibilities

• Deliver home heating oil and propane to residential and light commercial clients via metered routes
• Speak with customers about deliveries; present company professionally
• Pull tickets, run routes, and operate hoses in all weather
• Complete DOT paperwork and perform truck inspections

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Our Fuel Delivery Drivers run metered routes to safely deliver home heating oil and propane to residential and light commercial clients. Since you're carrying flammable materials, you'll need to maintain high levels of safety and caution in all your work activities. You'll also speak with customers about their deliveries as needed, making sure to professionally represent our company. You'll pull tickets, run routes, and operate the hose in all weather conditions. As you deliver loads, you'll fill out DOT paperwork and inspect the truck to keep it in good condition. Over time, you'll have the ability to gain leadership experience by taking on higher-level responsibilities like training new drivers, owning a route book, managing difficult stops, and responding to spills or delivery refusals.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Class B CDL with tanker (N) and hazardous materials (H) endorsements - we can help you obtain the endorsements!
• Current DOT medical certification
• Clean driving record and the ability to pass DOT testing
• Comfort working outdoors in all seasons, including winter

Our ideal Fuel Delivery Driver has a Class A CDL and is familiar with central Connecticut roads/neighborhoods. Experience delivering propane or home heating oil would also be a bonus! If you're highly goal-driven and motivated to do an excellent job,
