Qualifications

• Strong subcontractor management experience, including productivity monitoring, work sequencing, escalation, and corrective action.

Responsibilities

Position: FTTH Construction Project Manager

Compensation: $100K–$130K/year W2 + 15% bonus + medical/dental/vision benefits + PTO

Job Summary

The FTTH Construction Project Manager oversees fiber-to-the-home construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. This role coordinates third-party vendors, supports preconstruction activities, tracks project progress, manages schedules and budgets, and resolves construction issues.

The role will require regular field visits to monitor construction progress, conduct site reviews, and support vendors and project stakeholders. This is a hands-on project management position suited to someone with experience in FTTH, underground construction, utilities, telecommunications, or fiber deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction & Project Planning

• Support preconstruction activities, including constructability reviews, permitting, work order development, material planning, and project readiness.
• Review plans, designs, scopes, permits, and construction requirements prior to field deployment.
• Develop project schedules, sequencing plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Identify potential construction risks and develop mitigation plans.

Project Execution

• Manage FTTH construction projects from preconstruction through construction, closeout, and handoff.
• Coordinate and manage third-party contractors and vendors throughout project execution.
• Track daily and weekly production, schedule performance, costs, and project milestones.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance.
• Resolve field issues and coordinate with engineering, permitting teams, inspectors, and utility owners.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure construction meets project specifications, permits, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Monitor contractor productivity, workmanship, and adherence to construction standards.
• Identify deficiencies and drive corrective actions to minimize rework and delays.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and cost performance.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years managing fiber optic/FTTH construction projects through subcontractors and vendors.
• Experience with preconstruction, project planning, and field execution.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, production, quality, and issue resolution.
• Experience coordinating with engineering, permitting, inspectors, utility owners, and contractors.
• Strong subcontractor management experience, including productivity monitoring, work sequencing, escalation, and corrective action.
• Willingness to conduct regular field visits throughout the market.
