Job summary

FTSE Russell, part of LSEG, seeks a hands-on engineer to modernise and scale the cloud-native FTSE platform. You will work on low-latency systems at global scale, using AWS and AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining control.

You will collaborate across time zones, implement CI/CD, and help improve data quality, reliability, and performance for key investment benchmarks used by clients worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation, testing, and modern engineering practices.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a hands‑on engineer to help modernise and scale the FTSE platform – a cloud‑native, low‑latency system that operates at global scale and underpins critical investment products used worldwide. You will work on challenging problems across software engineering where performance, data quality, and reliability are non‑negotiable, while leveraging modern cloud (AWS) and AI‑assisted development tooling to accelerate delivery without compromising control. You will need practical use of AI‑assisted development tooling to improve engineering productivity.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience developing software using Java, Python, C++, C#, or similar technologies
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, testing, and modern engineering practices
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies
• Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
