Apple is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop storage firmware and bringup on new silicon for our NAND storage products. In this cross-functional role, you will act as the storage interface from silicon to the operating system across NAND-backed Apple products.

The NAND Storage Software team works with hardware, silicon, and software partners to develop firmware for SSDs and embedded flash solutions across a wide range of Apple’s products. We leverage telemetry and data analytics along with vertical integration across Apple’s storage stack and Apple Silicon to optimize our FTL algorithms for Apple’s customers across performance, reliability, durability, and time-to-market.

Support a wide variety of products through all development stages, from pre-silicon prototyping and board bringup through mass productionDevelop NAND flash management software and firmware driverDebug storage-related issues across hardware, drivers, and applicationsDeliver in short product cycles with high expectations of reliabilityWork with silicon and systems engineers to develop storage solutions for future products
Solid C programmer with knowledge of data structures and algorithmsExperience writing embedded device driversKnowledge of hardware platforms and processor architecturesFamiliarity with pre-silicon environments, bringup workflows, and cross-functional program executionBS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/skills
