Job description

Homestead Village is a thriving non-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited Life Plan Community located just outside vibrant Downtown Lancaster. We are seeking someone who is highly skilled, enthusiastic, and possesses excellent customer service skills to join our compassionate community as we enhance independence and dignity for all our Residents. Our Housekeepers are critical to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents and the entire community.

Location - Main Building

Base Pay - Determined based upon years of experience; starting rate $16.50 with no experience

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience in general housekeeping is preferred
  • Ability to clearly communicate with residents and co-workers to meet resident needs.
  • Work cooperatively with household team members to accomplish objectives
  • Flexible and responsive to change, easily considering new approaches.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be honest and dependable.
  • Excellence in customer service.
  • Adheres to the Company Wide Behaviors.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Complies with policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including safety, infection control, and sanitation regulations for housekeeping and laundry
  • Attends and participates in Quality Assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Interacts with other household team members in a positive and contributing manner.
  • Cleans movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures. Dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects as necessary. Empties and cleans waste baskets. Straightens and/or rearranges furniture as necessary.
  • Keeps household rooms and common areas clean using routine cleaning standards per a schedule.
  • Establishes warm, respectful relationships with residents, family members, and team members.
  • Provides appropriate floor care after meals and as needed.
  • Performs emergency housekeeping assignments when necessary.
  • Vacuum carpets, dry, wet mop, and disinfect floor surfaces.
  • Performs basic housekeeping tasks such as sanitizing bathrooms, washing windows, and mirrors.
  • Maintains housekeeping equipment in performing duties. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
