City of Cleburne is seeking a Telecommunications Operator to answer multiple incoming phone lines, dispatch calls, and operate the 9-1-1 system. The role requires use of radio and data communications, and providing information to the public.
The position requires a high school diploma and the ability to work flexible shifts, holidays, and weekends. A Telecommunications Operator License must be obtained within six months of hire.
Compensation - $26.47/hr

Under general supervision, the telecommunications operator is responsible for answering multiple incoming phone lines, dispatching calls, operating the 9-1-1 system and using the radio during assigned shifts, and providing general information to the public. The operator must be willing and able to work flexible shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
High school graduate or equivalent; OR
At least six (6) months of equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
A Valid Class C Texas driver's license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
Must obtain a Telecommunications Operator License within six (6) months of hire date, including but not limited to the following courses;
Primarily in an indoor environment with the ability to operate outdoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during the summer and winter months.
Standard office equipment including multi-line telephone, two-way radio, multi-channel public safety radio system, digital recording machine, computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, printer, Genovation keypad, etc.
