Job description

Provide world-class customer service in stores as a full-time, minimum thirty-two (32) hour pharmacist and work to satisfy every customer's needs by exceeding their expectations and making every shopping visit an enjoyable and remarkable experience. Take responsibility for the overall operation of the pharmacy, maximizing controllable profit and minimizing expenses. Ensure all pharmacy associates comply with current company standards and all Federal and State regulations. Treat our customers and employees ethically and respectfully, promoting an inclusive, efficient work environment. Act as a responsible community member by emphasizing safety and accuracy when handling patient needs. Assist the pharmacy manager by carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including training associates, planning, assigning work, addressing complaints, and solving problems.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Perform all functions of staff pharmacists, supporting divisional, corporate, and special promotions.
  2. Complete special projects as determined by the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Operations Managers.
  3. Respond to pharmacy needs for relief coverage and travel locations, including routine and emergency schedule needs.
  4. Demonstrate a commitment to providing welcoming, important, and appreciated customer service.
  5. Administer immunizations following Harris Teeter’s protocols.
  6. Complete clinical services according to relevant case load.
  7. Dispense or compound medications in accordance with prescriptions, laws, regulations, policies, and ethics standards.
  8. Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
  9. Verify the work of pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring prescription accuracy and proper formulas.
  10. Evaluate medications within patient profiles to prevent drug interactions before filling prescriptions.
  11. Maintain appropriate day supply and follow protocols on recalls.
  12. Follow all licensing laws for renewal and application processes.
  13. Maintain procedures for quality assurance, controlled substances security, and hazardous waste disposal.
  14. Communicate ongoing programs and their impact to department members.
  15. Adhere to all applicable laws, including HIPAA and fraud, waste, and abuse regulations.
  16. Ensure pharmacy employees meet professional standards, regulations, laws, and guidelines.
  17. Check in vendors according to standards.
  18. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and programs.
  19. Communicate with management about advertising, merchandising, and customer experience issues.
  20. Accurately complete paperwork and maintain records.
  21. Perform job functions efficiently, including data entry, inventory, stocking, dispensing, reporting, and sales.
  22. Maximize gross profit and minimize operating expenses.
  23. Maintain records related to pharmacy functions, review financial reports, and make decisions based on data analysis.
  24. Handle customer complaints appropriately.
  25. Maintain confidentiality of customer records.
  26. Manage time effectively, including breaks and meals for pharmacy personnel.
  27. Assist store leaders in providing a positive shopping experience.
  28. Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
  29. Follow company guidelines for transactions and registers.
  30. Display a positive attitude in interactions.
  31. Adhere to safety procedures and report illegal activities.
  32. Present a professional image in dress and demeanor.

Qualifications:

Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing within the applicable state(s). Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD preferred. Previous experience is a plus. Immunization certification through APhA and CPR certification are required. Effective communication skills and the ability to work with mathematical concepts are necessary. A valid driver’s license is also required.
