Novant Health Urgent Care (Formerly Doctors Care) is seeking a Full-Time X-Ray Technologist to join their team in Florence, South Carolina. The role involves operating x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images, maintaining patient records, and providing positive customer service in a clinical environment.

The ideal candidate should possess a one-year degree in Radiographic Technology and a current South Carolina license. Job description

Title: X‑Ray Technologist

Location: South Irby – Novant Health Urgent Care

Status: Full‑Time

Responsibilities

• Operate X‑ray equipment and produce images to aid providers with diagnosing and treating diseases or injuries.
• Pre‑screen patients by taking vitals, reviewing history, and summarizing the reason for visit.
• Maintain center cleanliness and provide positive customer service.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures and protect patients, self, and staff from radiation hazards.
• Set up and operate radiographic equipment, adjust exposure factors, and position patients for specific body parts as requested by physicians.
• Develop images, check clarity, and retake when necessary; distribute x‑rays to appropriate medical staff.
• Maintain required records, including patient logs, daily logbooks, and monthly reports.
• Perform quantity and quality control checks to assure the x‑ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
• Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment; determine equipment repairs.
• Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments as needed.
• Call patients to relay physician messages and diagnostic test or lab results.
• Inform providers of any abnormal labs or tests.
• Clean exam room(s), instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
• Communicate with front staff regarding patient flow and wait times.
• Recognize patient distress and take appropriate actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One‑year degree in Radiographic Technology.
• Current South Carolina license for radiographic technology.
• Limited Practice Radiographer‑General Certification accepted.
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• Training in OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts, weekends, and at other centers as needed.
