Job Description

Assists Physician and in charge Registered Nurse with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Nurse Director. Additionally, operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) and CT scans of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides supportive care to patients under the direction of the registered nurse in charge and/or physician.
  2. Performs patient skill sets such as taking height and weight measurements, vital signs, IV initiations, blood draws, and documenting as needed to assist the nurse and physician with patient care.
  3. Performs diagnostic testing using x-ray and/or CT scan equipment according to physician’s orders and protocol.
  4. Produces quality images and uploads them for radiology reads/interpretations.
  5. Applies proper techniques and practices during diagnostic testing with radiology equipment and lab procedures.
  6. Reports lab and radiology results immediately to the registered nurse and/or physician.
  7. Assists registered nurses and physicians with assessments, examinations, and treatments.
  8. Performs additional duties such as crutch walking, dressing changes, and assisting with splint or cast application.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of current trends and techniques in x-ray technology.
  • Ability to learn quality control procedures, operate computerized radiologic equipment, and use computers for recordkeeping.
  • Basic computer skills.
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent with diploma/certification from an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Radiology Technologist in a hospital or emergency room setting.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • CPR/BLS Certification required.
  • Current license from the Texas Department of State Health Services for Radiology Technologist required.
Additional Requirements
  • Prolonged standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical strength and agility for patient positioning.
  • Compliance with privacy and security laws, internal policies, and procedures, including reporting concerns and infractions.
  • Protection of credentials and maintenance of confidentiality of data.
  • Adherence to the Company’s Information Security policies and procedures.
  • Participation in annual Information Security Awareness Training.
