Job description

PT Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (Berea, KY)

Join us at CareMed Group as a PT Wound Care Nurse Practitioner in Berea, KY. We are a dedicated team providing medical services to residents in long-term care facilities, aiming to deliver quality care and positively impact the elderly population.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide wound care services to patients in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with KY Law.
  • Order, review, and follow up on treatments and diagnostic tests.
  • Communicate regularly with nursing home staff regarding patient conditions and care plans.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians to coordinate care.
Qualifications and Education
  • Current, unrestricted NP license in Kentucky.
  • Board Certification.
  • DEA licensure (optional).
  • Experience in adult, family, or geriatric specialties, with a focus on wound care.
  • Comfort with diagnosing and treating various wound types, including diabetic, arterial, venous, and pressure injuries.
  • Knowledge of wound care best practices and products.
  • Experience with wound vacs and DME devices.
  • Wound certification preferred or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience in long-term care setting preferred.
