Job description

The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Person is to receive, store and distribute inventory within the store to various departments and to customers.

Duties :

• Read customer receipts and loading tickets to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Conveys items from receiving area to storage or other designated areas
• Sorts and places items or materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product SKU
• Fill requisitions for stock items and distributes items to appropriate departments and / or areas
• Assembles customer orders from stock, or assembles items to be displayed
• Opens bales, crates and other containers
• Operates cardboard baler
• Operates forklift, pallet jack and use of flatbed carts to transport stored items from warehouse to store or to pick up from store to warehouse.
• Ability to use power tools, panel saw, and pipe thread machine.
• Pump propane to fill customer's tanks
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements :

• High school degree, some college preferred
• Experience in a retail environment preferred
• Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to load and unload trucks in a safe manner
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Must have good driving record

Physical Requirements :

• Move and handle boxes of merchandise, various furniture and other items, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
• Must be able to operate heavy machinery
• Must occasionally lift and / or move more than 80 pounds.

Must be available evenings and weekends.
