Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this job is to fill prescriptions, help customers, unpack totes, answer telephone calls, and answer questions within specified limits. Team members are required to be either state or nationally certified.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule, check equipment, fill supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties at the start of the shift.
• Move, open, and unpack incoming totes and place items on appropriate shelves.
• Clean shelving, check inventory levels, and inspect products for expiration dates.
• Assist customers and answer telephone calls.
• Verify customer identification for products when required.
• Complete the prescription filling process, including data entry and product dispensing.
• Maintain state or national certification, and if certified to immunize, complete immunization processes for customers.

Qualifications

• Successfully complete background check and drug screening.
• Read, write, communicate, and understand the duties required.
• Complete the company introductory (probationary) period of 60 days.
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements, including base scores for this position.
• Use or learn to use the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
• Perform all job functions safely.
• Meet company performance standards.
• Agree to wear the proper assigned clothing and shoes approved for this job.
• Maintain valid specialty licenses, certificates, or permits required for the position.

Physical Requirements

• Shift hours: minimum 4‑hour shift or more, depending on business needs.
• Job cycles: continual maximum.
• Lift/carry: 50 lbs.
• Stand: 55%, sit: 0%, walk: 45%.
• Category IV: lifting, carrying, P/P up to 50 lbs.
• Max pull static: 20 lbs.

• Follow all state and federal laws in compliance with pharmacy rules and standards.
• Know MSDS information for all materials used during work.
• Complete and follow Lockout/Tagout training.
• Complete and follow Confined Space training.
• Complete Right-to-Know training.
• Complete HIPAA for Pharmacy Associates training.
• Complete all additional pharmacy training requirements.
