SUMMARY:
Provide world-class customer service in stores as a full-time forty (40) hour pharmacist and work to satisfy every customer's needs by exceeding their expectations and making every shopping visit an enjoyable and remarkable experience. Take responsibility for the overall operation of the pharmacy, maximizing controllable profit and minimizing expenses. Ensure all pharmacy associates comply with current company standards and all Federal and State regulations. Treat our customers and employees ethically and respectfully, promoting an inclusive, efficient work environment. Act as a responsible community member by emphasizing safety and accuracy when handling patient needs. Function as the pharmacy manager by carrying out supervisory responsibilities including training associates, planning, assigning work, addressing complaints, and solving problems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform all functions of the pharmacy manager, including supporting divisional, corporate, and special promotions.
- Complete special projects as directed by the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Operations Managers.
- Respond to pharmacy needs for relief coverage and travel locations, covering all schedule needs both routine and emergency.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent customer service, making all customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
- Administer immunizations following Harris Teeter’s standing orders and procedures.
- Complete clinical services according to relevant case loads.
- Dispense or compound medications following laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and ethics standards.
- Review prescriptions issued by prescribers for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Verify the work of pharmacy technicians and interns, including prescription accuracy and formula determination.
- Evaluate medications within patient profiles to prevent drug interactions prior to filling prescriptions.
- Maintain appropriate day supply and follow protocol on recalls, engaging the pharmacy team accordingly.
- Follow all state and federal licensing requirements and maintain proper documentation.
- Ensure quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Communicate ongoing programs and departmental impacts to team members.
- Adhere to all applicable laws and guidelines, including HIPAA, and ensure compliance with pharmacy dispensing laws.
- Promote trust and respect among team members.
- Ensure professional standards and legal requirements are met by all pharmacy staff.
- Check in vendors according to standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Maximize gross profit and minimize operating expenses, reviewing financial reports for effective decision-making.
- Handle customer complaints appropriately, maintaining confidentiality of records.
- Assist store leaders in providing a positive shopping experience and creating a welcoming environment.
- Follow company policies on registers, payments, and transactions.
- Display professionalism and adhere to safety procedures, reporting illegal activities accordingly.
- Maintain a professional and respectful business image and ensure cleanliness of the pharmacy area.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and change management.
- Prioritize patient safety and act as a champion for patient needs and safety standards.
- Manage time effectively, including scheduling and breaks, to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing within the relevant state(s). A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required, with previous experience preferred. Certification in immunizations through APhA and CPR certification through an accredited organization is necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Compensation:
Pay transparency indicates a range of $115,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience and skill sets of the applicant.
