Job description

SUMMARY: Provide world-class customer service in stores as a full-time forty (40) hour pharmacist and work to satisfy every customer's needs by exceeding their expectations and making every shopping visit an enjoyable and remarkable experience. Take responsibility for the overall operation of the pharmacy, maximizing controllable profit and minimizing expenses. Ensure all pharmacy associates comply with current company standards and all Federal and State regulations. Treat our customers and employees in an ethical, respectful manner and promote an inclusive, efficient work environment. Act as a responsible member of the community by emphasizing safety and accuracy when handling patient needs. Function as the pharmacy manager by carrying out supervisory responsibilities including training of associates, planning, assigning work, addressing complaints, and solving problems.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Perform all functions of the pharmacy manager, including supporting divisional, corporate, and special promotions.
  2. Complete special projects as directed by the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Operations Managers.
  3. Respond to pharmacy needs for relief coverage and travel locations, including routine and emergency schedules.
  4. Provide excellent customer service, making all customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  5. Administer immunizations following Harris Teeter’s protocols.
  6. Complete clinical services according to caseload.
  7. Dispense or compound medications following laws, regulations, policies, and ethics standards.
  8. Review prescriptions for accuracy, formulas, and ingredients.
  9. Verify work of pharmacy technicians and interns.
  10. Evaluate medications for drug interactions within patient profiles.
  11. Maintain appropriate stock levels and follow recall protocols.
  12. Ensure licensing and renewals are up-to-date.
  13. Maintain quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
  14. Communicate ongoing programs and departmental impacts.
  15. Adhere to all relevant laws, including HIPAA and fraud prevention.
  16. Promote trust and respect within the team.
  17. Ensure professional standards and legal compliance by all pharmacy staff.
  18. Check in vendors according to standards.
  19. Follow company policies, procedures, and programs.
  20. Maintain accurate records and reports related to pharmacy operations.
  21. Analyze financial data, maximize profit, and minimize expenses.
  22. Handle customer complaints appropriately.
  23. Maintain confidentiality of customer records.
  24. Assist store leadership in providing a positive shopping experience.
  25. Create an environment where customers feel valued.
  26. Follow cash register and transaction procedures.
  27. Display professionalism and maintain a positive attitude.
  28. Follow safety procedures and report illegal activities.
  29. Present a respectful business image in dress and demeanor.
  30. Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing within the applicable state(s).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD. Previous experience preferred.
  • Immunization certification through APhA and CPR certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts like probability, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
