Homestead Village - Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description

Homestead Village is a thriving non-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited Life Plan Community located just outside vibrant Downtown Lancaster. We are seeking highly skilled, enthusiastic, and passionate Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our compassionate community, enhancing independence and dignity for all our Residents.

Location
  • Main Apartment Building - Supportive Services; supports up to 98 residents
Compensation

Base pay is determined based on years of experience. The starting rate for those with no experience or med-tech certification is $15.75, plus applicable shift and weekend differentials:

  • $1.50 additional from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • $0.75 additional from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am
Open Positions
  • Full-Time: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with every other weekend/holiday support
Responsibilities
  • Establish respectful relationships with residents
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) as outlined in Resident Support Plans
  • Maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; administer first aid as required
  • Perform laundry and light housekeeping to ensure a safe living environment
  • Facilitate resident activities to meet social, educational, spiritual, and recreational needs
  • Assist with dining, meal preparation, and service
  • Escort residents to appointments and outings
  • Encourage proper hydration and nutrition
  • Conduct rounds to verify resident safety
  • Respond promptly to call bells and requests for help
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to resident needs
  • Communicate effectively and adhere to confidentiality policies (HIPAA)
  • Accurately document resident information and follow support plans
  • Report pertinent resident information
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments
  • Maintain punctuality and attendance
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
