As a FT Outbound Freight Handler, you will load and unload freight onto and off of equipment, as well as assist in the recouping of damaged freight.

Responsibilities include:

1. Prepare, sweep, inspect, and clean trailer(s) before loading freight.
2. Use safe lifting techniques to properly load and unload freight.
3. Select and use proper freight handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, rollers, and other equipment to move, load, and unload freight.
4. Plan cube utilization and proper weight distribution when loading freight.
5. Count and inspect freight, documenting shortages or damage.
6. Review freight bills for special instructions and check manifests for exceptions.
7. Verify labels, destination codes, and special instructions, including weight distributions and hazardous material details.
8. Properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Preferred experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler.
• Previous Forklift Certification preferred.

Pay: $27.35 - $32.20 per hour

Work Shift: Second Shift
