Job description

Position Overview

A full‑time Inpatient Occupational Therapist position located in Florence, South Carolina, with Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluates, administers and directs therapeutic procedures utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
• Establishes goals of occupational therapy and reassesses patient progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation.
• Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments.
• Conducts evaluations of an individual’s speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools.
• Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials.
• Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling.
• Completes required documentation to record assessment and progress.
• Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies.
• May direct support staff in assisting with treatment.

Education & Qualifications

• Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school.
• One year of prior experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
• Occupational Therapist South Carolina license required.
• AHA BLS or equivalent certification required.
