Essential Functions
  • Check daily schedule to confirm work hours; schedules may change.
  • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance; be present as scheduled.
  • Complete patient records accurately and promptly.
  • Work harmoniously with physicians and clerical staff to meet patient needs.
  • Take and record vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, routine urine specimens, and monitor/eliminate records.
  • Provide medical assistance to patients under physician direction within scope of training.
  • Carry out therapeutic measures such as bandage changes, suture removal, splint application, or heat/cold therapy under physician guidance.
  • Assist with transporting patients for x-ray, CT, lab services, or to and from transportation methods.
  • Assist with transfers or admissions to other physicians or facilities.
  • Ensure all continuing education and preventive medicine updates are completed, including vaccines, mammograms, PAP tests, colonoscopies, etc.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient education as directed by the physician.
  • Complete daily routine assignments.
  • Coordinate follow-up on missed appointments, reminder calls, and high-risk referrals with the Clinical Nurse Manager/Staff Manager.
  • Serve as backup for clinical team members as needed.
  • Assist in developing staff education and in-service sessions under supervision.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Medical Assistant Certification/Registration from an accredited organization (e.g., AMT, AAMA, NHA) required within 12 months of hire.

CPR/BLS Certification may be obtained during the apprenticeship.

Experience: Preferably one year of related experience or education.

Starting pay is $18.00/hour, with increases based on experience.

Sign-on and Incentive Pay

$500 with first paycheck.

$250 after one year of service.

$250 after two years of service.

$500 after three years of service.

Additional retention agreement required for education repayment.

Immunizations required for employment.
