DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and government regulations.
- Meet or exceed all Management Planning guidelines.
- Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Develop product knowledge in all areas of the meat department, including cooking procedures.
- Make price changes and maintain accurate price books and scales as directed.
- Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist in training other associates when assigned.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain effective communication within the department and organization.
- Support safety standards, report equipment issues, and keep work areas safe and clean.
- Observe sanitation and food safety standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
- Minimum age requirement met.
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Experience as a meat associate or in meat cutting preferred.
- Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical skills.
Physical Requirements
- Lift cases or packages weighing 1-40 lb. frequently; up to 100 lb. on occasion.
- Meet volume activity standards.
- Stand or walk continuously in temperatures around 45°F.
- Perform repetitive motions such as grasping, twisting, reaching, and hand/arm movements.
- Use hands to feel, cut, wrap, and weigh meat products.
- Handle cleaning substances, packaging materials, and meat products.
- Frequent bending required.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Complete meat cutting training, including tasks like scraping, cubing, grinding, and processing meat.
- Perform meat associate responsibilities as directed.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product selection.
- Identify, wrap, price, and weigh meat products per procedures.
- Stock cases with proper rotation.
- Receive, code, rotate, and store meat deliveries.
- Clean and sanitize cases, equipment, and work areas.
- Meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.
Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25 hourly.
