Job summary

Beauport Hospitality Group in Gloucester, MA is seeking a dedicated custodian/maintenance worker to support Cruiseport Gloucester and Seaport Grille. You will handle daily custodial tasks, event setups, and light maintenance to keep the property clean and welcoming.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs, work independently, and follow safety procedures. Compensation ranges from $18 to $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must stand for at least 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, clean, and keep orderly the interior and exterior of Cruiseport and Seaport Grille.
• Perform custodial tasks: dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and other cleaning duties.
• Rubbish removal and snow removal; sidewalk clearing.
• Operate light maintenance on furniture, equipment, and facilities.
• Respond to facility emergencies and management requirements.
• Set up and breakdown of tables and chairs for events.
• Report damage or malfunctions to the Manager.

We are seeking a team player to perform the essentialcustodial/maintenance functions for Cruiseport Gloucester andSeaport Grille. The General Maintenance/Janitor/Custodian positionis responsible for the daily custodial services, and event set upneeds required to provide a clean, well-maintained, and welcomingproperty environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible andwilling to take on non-routine cleaning, maintenance, and specialprojects as the need arises.

Experience:

Prefer at least one (1) or more years of experience in a similar role

Essential Functions

• Maintains, cleans, and keeps orderly the interior and exterior ofCruiseport and Seaport Grille, property, and grounds
• Perform custodial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping,cleaning, vacuuming and other general cleaning tasks in Cruiseportand Seaport Grille, and other spaces within and around the buildingand its exterior
• Responsible for removal of Cruiseport and office rubbish and snowremoval as well as sidewalk clearing
• Required to perform light preventative and corrective maintenanceon furniture, equipment, and facilities
• Must respond quickly to any facility emergencies, sanitary needs,or Management requirements
• Responsible for setup and breakdown of tables and chairs forCruiseport events
• Promptly reports any damage to, or malfunction of property andmaintenance systems to the Department/Property Manager
• All work must be done with pride and in a professional manner atall times
• Perform other duties as designated by the Management Team toinclude: Events/Sales, Restaurant, and Maintenance Managers, andManaging Director.

Other duties may include:

• Driving the company vehicles for routine errands and supply runsand/or snow plowing.
• Operatingthe forklift.

• Position requires physical activity including bending, lifting,and rotating on a continuous basis throughout the shift
• Ability to climb and carry ladders
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
• Ability to stand for at least 8 hours at a time
• Practice and observe all safety procedures
• Ability to read electronic, pneumatic, and electrical gauges and meters
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, and electricalsystems to identify and isolate problematic components or systems
• Actual compensation is commensurate with relevant skills and qualifications.
• Salary range is $18-$20/hr
• Work will primarily take place at all interior and exterior partsof the building to include, but not limited to the grounds, parkinglot, driveways, and sidewalks
• Exterior of building with exposure to extreme weather and temperatures
• Exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oils, soaps and cleaning chemicals
• Work to be performed in tight spaces with limited ability to move,and elevated heights on occasion is to be expected
