Description
The Caregiver is responsible for providing personal assistance and routine daily care to residents, following the Resident Care Profile and directives from the Executive Director and Health Services Director. The role aims to enhance residents' independence and quality of life. This position is located at a WellQuest Living community. Additionally, the Caregiver assists residents with recreational activities to maintain their optimal functioning. Reports to: Health Services Director, Journey Care Director, or Journey Program Director, as assigned.

- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), including bathing, grooming, hygiene, transportation, bowel and bladder care, shaving, dressing, and hair care.
- Respond promptly to residents' needs, respecting their dignity, safety, and confidentiality.
- Assist with bed and wheelchair transfers using safe techniques.
- Help residents during mealtime, including serving meals, clearing tables, and delivering room trays as directed.
- Encourage participation in daily activities such as bed making, laundry, and setting tables.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in residents' rooms.
- Ensure residents are dressed and groomed appropriately.
- Report any changes in residents' conditions to a supervisor immediately.
- Respond to pull cords/alerts promptly; carry a radio and respond as required.
- Assist Activities Department in carrying out planned activities and preparing residents for social programs.
- Complete resident care sign-off sheets at the end of each shift.
- Help new residents settle in by organizing personal items and introducing them to others.
- Assist Medication Aides and perform medication aide activities when needed.
- Follow Universal Precautions and safety policies regarding blood and body fluids.
- Participate in fire and safety procedures to ensure safety.
- Interact tactfully and friendly with residents, families, and visitors.
- Attend scheduled training and staff meetings.
- Maintain required certifications and licensures.
- Support community marketing through positive interactions and property tours.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
- Promote teamwork and cooperative interactions with colleagues and other departments.
- Present a positive and professional image through actions and attire.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
