Job Summary

Saia is currently seeking dockworkers to join our team. Responsibilities include efficiently sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight from over-the-road equipment, containers, and city trailers using a sit-down forklift. Dockworkers may also perform yard duties such as moving trailers, acting as hostlers.

Job Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manually, in compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Read and interpret shipping labels.
• Hand load, rewrap, or stack freight as necessary.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate dunnage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in freight handling.
• Forklift certification.
• Hazmat training.
• Previous freight dock or warehouse experience is helpful.

Pay Rate: $26.25 - $30.25 per hour, based on experience.
