Primary Purpose

Perform duties ensuring department appearance, quality, variety, safety, and food safety standards are maintained. Support Hannaford Strategy, build customer relations, and provide enthusiastic customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow all company policies and practices.
• Maintain a neat appearance and comply with personal appearance policies.
• Assist in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Train other associates when required.
• Communicate effectively within the department and organization.
• Work within management planning guidelines to maintain productivity.
• Support safety standards, report equipment issues, and keep work areas safe.
• Treat all co-workers with fairness and respect.
• Develop product knowledge across deli offerings.
• Understand and follow department manuals and standards.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Ensure department appearance and presentation are maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive grasping, hand, and arm motions while standing/walking.
• Lift up to 15 lbs. frequently and 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Push/pull 3-15 lbs. frequently.
• Reach to shoulder level frequently; overhead on occasion.

Preferred Requirements

• Supervise deli staff performance.
• Delegate and follow up effectively.
• Slice, cut, weigh, and package products.
• Replenish merchandise and prepare food.
• Process merchandise with proper rotation.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist with product selection.
• Maintain accurate records of production, sales, and inventory.
• Sanitize equipment regularly.
• Meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.

Salary range: $18.95 - $27.25/hr.
