Primary Purpose:

Ensure the department's appearance, quality, variety, safety, and food safety are maintained at the highest standards. Support Hannaford's strategy, build customer relations, and provide enthusiastic customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Follow all company policies and standard practices.
2. Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance per policy.
3. Assist in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
4. Help train fellow associates when needed.
5. Maintain clear communication within the department and organization.
6. Work within management planning guidelines to ensure productivity.
7. Support safety standards, report equipment issues, and keep the work area safe and clean.
8. Treat all coworkers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
9. Develop product knowledge in deli items such as meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
10. Understand and follow the department's standard practices.
11. Adhere to sanitation and food safety standards.
12. Maintain the department's appearance and presentation quality.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive grasping, hand, and arm motions during standing/walking.
• Lift up to 15 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Push/pull 3-15 lbs. frequently.
• Reach to shoulder level and overhead as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supervise deli associates' duties.
• Use good judgment in delegation and follow-up.
• Slice, cut, weigh, and package products per customer needs.
• Replenish merchandise, prepare foods, and set up displays.
• Process merchandise with attention to product rotation standards.
• Provide friendly customer service and assist with product selection.
• Keep accurate records of production, sales, and inventory.
• Sanitize equipment as per policies.
• Meet physical requirements with or without accommodations.

Salary Range:

$18.95 - $27.25 per hour
