Starting rate of pay:$15.45/hour
Hours: Full-time 40 hours weekly
Must be available to work early morning shifts; which include and occasional Saturdays.
The Custodian is responsible for sustaining and maintaining the library and its facilities through regular cleaning activities.
In cooperation with the Custodial Supervisor, Facilities & Maintenance Team, and other colleagues, the Custodian will advance the library’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, and brand. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

This position requires the regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force, and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force. Work frequently requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and lifting. Work occasionally requires speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing, and tasting or smelling. This position has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment, and observing general surroundings and activities. Work occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to the risk of electrical shock, exposure to vibration, and exposure to blood borne pathogens. This position may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
