The primary purpose of this job is to enter orders, schedule work and production, supervise and train team members, receive, store, and stock items, check dates, change pricing of items going out of code, and perform all department tasks as needed.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Promptly, at the start of the shift, review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties.
  • Perform markdowns and track loss.
  • Perform all tasks and operate all equipment related to the deli, carryout, café, and cheese departments.
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters.
  • Make sandwiches, subs, and wraps, label, and display as per SOP.
  • Prepare pizza per SOP, use turbo oven, cut, package, and serve to customers.
  • Assist customers, cut and slice meat or cheese, portion, weigh, and label items.
  • Prepare products for the grab-and-go case.
  • Roast and package chicken, including handling, wrapping, and labeling.
  • Fry chicken, clean fryers, and manage oil levels.
  • Order and demonstrate smoked program items, clean equipment regularly.
  • Handle receiving, unloading, and storing goods and supplies.
  • Follow SOPs for Flashfood donations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards using appropriate cleaning tools and chemicals.
  • Stock and organize sales floor cases.
  • Record loss and perform sanitation and temperature logs.
  • Organize the cooler and freezer sections.
  • Assist in weekly circular ad planning.

General Rules

  • Report accidents and file incident reports within 24 hours.
  • Follow safety instructions, wear PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to dress code and no horseplay or running.
  • Know emergency procedures and evacuation routes.
  • Understand and follow food safety, sanitation, and proper lifting procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, never leave machinery unattended.
  • Follow company policies and complete required safety and training courses.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand safety policies.
  • Complete food safety certification every 5 years and train new team members.
  • Meet ergonomic, physical, and performance standards, including attendance.
  • Ability to operate relevant equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Minimum 4-hour shifts, with physical capacity to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in temperature-varied environments.

Preferred Requirements

  • Understanding of company policies and procedures.
