Primary Purpose

Assist in managing department operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build relationships with associates and customers, promoting a strong culture aligned with Hannaford Strategy.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
  • Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills; leadership ability.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Meet minimum age requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use computers and communication systems.
  • Stand and walk continuously.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs. frequently and 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Reach to shoulder lifting 20 lbs. frequently; overhead occasionally.
  • Push/pull 3-15 lbs. frequently; up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Bending, reaching, grasping, lifting at waist level.
  • Work in extreme temperatures for short periods.
Additional Physical Requirements
  • Operate controls, handle objects, and use appliances/tools.
  • Handle substances related to cleaning, packaging, and food.
  • Meet activity standards for the department.
Preferred Requirements
  • Manage department in the manager's absence.
  • Provide excellent customer service and offer solutions.
  • Support sales growth through merchandising.
  • Assist in hiring, training, developing, and managing staff.
  • Maintain department standards for appearance, quality, safety, and food safety.
  • Develop work schedules to meet standards and staff needs.
  • Recognize and coach associates for excellent service.
  • Utilize company tools for reports, scheduling, and inventory.
  • Keep accurate records of production, sales, and inventory.
  • Communicate policies to staff.
  • Perform various functions to meet service and production goals.
  • Participate in special projects.
  • Meet physical requirements of the role, with accommodations if needed.
  • Handle, store, and merchandise products per guidelines.

Salary range: $21.75 - $31.60 hourly.
